Several parts of Odisha are set to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall activities for the next three days from today under the influence of a low pressure area formed over the south Jharkhand and neighbourhood.
As per the special bulletin issued by IMD today, yesterday's low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha & Gangetic West Bengal, now lies over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood with associated cyclonic circulation extends upto mid-tropospheric levels tilting south-westwards with height. it is likely to move west north-westward.
“Under its influence, widespread light to moderate rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur during next 24 hours and thereafter fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall will continue due to monsoon flow,” the weather office said.

Fishermen Warning:
Under influence of above low pressure system and due to steep pressure gradient, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely over North Bay of Bengal adjoining westcentral Bay Bengal off Odisha coast till 15th June 2021.
Therefore, fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha coast & north Bay of Bengal adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal till June 15.
