The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted rise in maximum (day) temperature in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. An alert for heat wave conditions has also been sounded for several districts.

As per IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to rise around 3 to 4 degrees during the next two to three days. As per the forecast, the maximum temperature will be above 3 to 5 degrees at one or two places in the State during March 16 to 18.

It is pertinent to mention here that already several parts of Odisha are experiencing intense heat conditions in the past couple of days. Bolangir district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.3 degree Celsius on Monday.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir,Angul, Nayagarh, Khordha, Balasore and Mayurbhanj.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.03.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.03.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur,, Boudh, Bolangir, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda,Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.03.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.03.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir,Angul, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.
