The normal life across Odisha has been adversely hit following the intense heat wave conditions that have been prevailing for the past several days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) may rise by 2 to 3°C at a few places over the districts of Odisha during next 2 days and fall by 2-4°C in subsequent 3 days.
The IMD has also issued an alert for heat wave in several parts of Odisha. Similarly, a yellow warning for thunderstorm and heavy rainfall has also been issued for different parts of the state.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Angul, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 07.04.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Angul, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Boudh. Thunderstorm with lightning, hail is very likely to occur at one or two places over the Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.04.2024)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati .
Thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Cuttack.
