The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across various parts of Odisha till July 3, 2025, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in several districts.

According to the latest bulletin issued by the IMD, widespread rain is expected to lash the state under the influence of active monsoon conditions.

Today, a Yellow Warning has been issued for 16 districts, alerting local authorities and citizens to remain cautious. The districts under the warning include Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh, where intense rainfall activity is likely to continue over the next few days.

The IMD has also released special alerts for June 30 and July 1, forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in parts of western and northern Odisha.
