First Low Pressure Of 2022 To Form Over South Bay Of Bengal In Next 48 Hours, Know Its Impact 

The India Meteorological Department said a cyclonic circulation lay over strait of Malacca and adjoining south Andaman Sea with vertical extension up to 5.8 km above mean sea level at 0300 UTC of today, the 27th February, 2022.

The first low pressure area of this year is expected to form over the south Bay of Bengal adjoining south Andaman Sea in the next 48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Sunday.  

“A cyclonic circulation lay over strait of Malacca and adjoining south Andaman Sea with vertical extension up to 5.8 km above mean sea level at 0300 UTC of today, the 27th February, 2022. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours,” the IMD said in its tropical weather outlook.
