Despite a considerable drop in freezing cold conditions, people in several parts of Odisha faced problems due to dense fog in the early hours of Saturday.
The movement of vehicular traffic was also disrupted due to thick blanket of cover in different parts of the state. Things were also no different in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The situation was more acute on the outskirts of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar as the visibility was dropped to less than 20 to 30 metres.
Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several parts of the State from today.
Apart from dense fog, the IMD has also issued an alert for rain in several parts of the state around January 17, 2023.

Day-1 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.01.2023)
Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.01.2023) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhargarh.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.01.2023): Dry Weather
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.01.2023) Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhargarh, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Dhenkanal.
