Several parts of Odisha on Monday experienced light to moderate rainfall activities while some parts received heavy rainfall under the influence of deep depression over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal (BoB).

The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also experienced light to moderate rainfall today.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that deep depression is about 70 km southeast of Puri, 140 km east of Gopalpur, 120 km south-southwest of Paradip, 170 - southwest of Chandbali and around 240 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

The deep depression is likely to move nearly north-westwards and cross Odisha coast near Puri by noon today. Thereafter, it is very likely to move west-northwestwards across Odisha and Chhattisgarh during subsequent two days.

Odisha: Light to moderate rainfall at most places is very likely with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over south Odisha and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over north Odisha on September 9.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Odisha on September 10 and isolated heavy rainfall over interior Odisha on September 11.
