A cyclonic circulation lies over Gangetic West Bengal and the neighbouring areas. Due to its’ influence, several parts of North Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will experience widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rains during the next 2-3 days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday informed that the Southwest Monsoon is active over Odisha. Several parts of north and south Odisha experienced light to moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours.
As per the forecast for the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara Jajpur and Dhenkanal , informed the IMD.

“Due to steep pressure gradient and strong monsoon flow, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over North Bay of Bengal and the adjoining central Bay of Bengal till June 18,” said IMD in a release.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Odisha.
