A total of 11000 village and 60 lakh people were affected by Cyclone Yaas, resulting in a loss of government and private property worth Rs 610 crore in the Odisha, informed the State chief secretary Suresh Mohapatra.
After a review meeting by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the chief secretary informed that government property to the tune of Rs 520 crore and private property worth Rs 90 crore had been damaged in the devastating cyclone.

Mohapatra further informed that the damage to the Power department in the natural calamity has been pegged around Rs 150 crore while estimating the damages suffered to school buildings, Anganwadi centres and panchayat roads at Rs 277 crore.
The State needs Rs 66 crore as relief, Mohapatra added.
Meanwhile, the Odisha CM has directed for the documentation of the government's steps towards the same.
