Cyclone To Brew In Bay Of Bengal In December, Says IMD Chief

Under the impact of the system, rainfall activities will increase and wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph is likely to prevail in the Andaman Sea and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal and the south-west Bay of Bengal from November 30 to December 2.

A cyclone may be a reality in the Bay of Bengal next month. The region's top cyclone forecasting agency IMD has today officially hinted at such a possibility. 

As per IMD DG Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the low-pressure area (LPA) that is likely to form over the South Andaman sea on November 30 has the potential to intensify into a cyclonic storm in due course.
