Cyclone Remal: IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Odisha, SRC reviews situation in Kendrapara, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak

Despite no direct impact from Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Remal' on Odisha, the IMD forecasts heavy rains for the area. Emergency protocols are in place with ODRAF and Fire Services on standby. The storm is expected to intensify and make landfall in Bangladesh and West Bengal soon.

Rainfall likely to continue in Odisha

Even as there is no direct impact on Odisha from the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Remal” (pronounced as “Re-Mal”) over North Bay of Bengal, the IMD on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of the state.

The Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) also reviewed the situation today with Collectors of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada on  the Severe Cyclonic Storm.
