Cyclone Jawad Weakens Into Well Marked Low Pressure, No Rainfall Warning For Odisha Today

Under its impact, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north coastal Odisha and at isolated places over the rest of Odisha for 24 hours. However, there is no rainfall warning today.

Depression (remnant of Cyclonic Storm ‘JAWAD’) weakened into Well Marked Low Pressure Area over northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts.

The Regional Meteorological Centre at Bhubaneswar on Monday informed that the depression over the Bay of Bengal has weakened into a well-marked pressure and is likely to further weaken into a low pressure area (LPA) in the subsequent six hours.

The weather office further predicted that although light to moderate rainfall is likely to lash some parts of Odisha today, dry weather is expected in the State tomorrow. Similarly, night temperature is likely to drop by three to four degrees from tonight.
