According to the IMD, the Cyclonic storm Jawad has weakened into a Depression and will further reduce to a well-marked lower pressure area tonight.

Incessant rainfall triggered by Cyclonic storm 'Jawad' has massively disrupted normal lives across several parts of Odisha. Though the Cyclone's remnants weakened into a Depression, clouds seemed to fall down on the port town of Paradip today afternoon wreaking havoc with intense rainfall. 

As per the available data, Paradip recorded 201mm rainfall between 8.30 and 5.30pm today, the highest in the State, informed the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar. The port town recorded a whopping 103 mm of rain in just an hour between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm.
