Cyclone Hamoon: IMD rules out any impact on Odisha; several districts to experience rainfall activities

IMD Bhubaneswar Scientist Umashankar Das said several parts of coastal and north Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall activities under the impact of Cyclone Hamoon.

Cyclone Hamoon Projected Track

Even as people across Odisha are left anxious owing to the forecast of a cyclonic storm that is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday ruled out any threat to the state from the impending storm.

As per IMD, the deep depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next few hours. It is very likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and cross the Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong around 25th October evening as a Deep Depression.
