Even as the landfall process of the severe cyclonic storm Dana continues in Odisha, several districts have been experiencing gusty winds and moderate to heavy rainfall activities since the early morning of Friday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that the entire landfall process is likely to end in the next few hours.

As per IMD, it is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and weaken gradually into a cyclonic storm by forenoon of today.

Under the influence of the severe cyclonic storm Dana, several districts of the state including Kendrapara, Balaore and Bhadrak experienced gusty winds and rainfall.

There are reports of roads blocked in some parts as huge trees have been uprooted under the impact of the gusty winds. Multiple agencies including Odisha Fire Services, ODRAF and NDRF are at ground zero and taking all possible steps to clear the roads to restore road connectivity at the earliest.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi also visited the SRC office to review the situation.
