Two days after a Low Pressure Area was formed over Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea off north Kerala and Karnataka coasts, another low pressure area is likely to form by tomorrow (December 15).
“The cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Strait of Malacca & Sumatra extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level persists. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Equatorial India Ocean by tomorrow morning, the 15th December, 2022. It is likely to move gradually westwards towards Sri-Lanka coast,” IMD said.

Under its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Nicobar Islands on 15th December.
The weather office has advised fishermen not to venture into Andaman Sea from 14th to 15th December, Southeast Bay of Bengal from 14th to 16th December, Central Parts of Bay of Bengal on 17th December and Southwest Bay of Bengal adjoining Sri-Lanka Coast and Gulf of Mannar on 18th December.
On the other hand, the well marked low over East-central and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea persists. “It is very likely to move northwestwards away from the Indian coast & concentrate into a Depression over East-central Arabian Sea by the 15th of December morning,” the IMD said.
Sharing information about the temperature, the IMD said, “Gradual fall by 2-4°C in minimum temperatures likely over Northwest India during next 2 days and no significant change thereafter. Gradual fall by 2-3°C in minimum temperatures likely over Central India during next 2-3 days and no significant change thereafter. No significant change in minimum temperatures likely over East India during next 24 hours and fall by 2-4°C thereafter. No significant change in minimum temperatures likely over remaining parts of the country during next 4-5 days.”
