A video of an Odia family being attacked by a 'drunk' bouncer on Sarjapura Main Road has sent shockwaves across the country. The viral video shows the family crying in fear and screaming for help.
Even as the family keeps shouting that there is a baby inside the car, the man continues to threaten the baby’s father to open the door, to which he replies, ‘Bacha Hai Andar’ (there is a child inside).
However, the man continues to force open the door of the vehicle. He then throws himself on the bonnet of the car and breaks the car’s windscreen wiper. Later, he takes a stone and smashes the windshield, leaving the baby and her mother terrified.
The baby’s mother recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone that has now been going viral. Fortunately, a few passers-by came to the family’s rescue and managed to control the youth, believed to be a bouncer at a Koramangala club.
As per the latest TOI reports, the man has been identified as Naveen Reddy, a resident of Bellandur. Based on a complaint by the couple, the accused has been arrested under Sections 126 (wrongful restraint), 324 (mischief), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult to provoke a breach of peace) of the BNS.
The incident spread outrage on social media with netizens demanding stringent action against the accused.
“Of late these incidents have shot the roof in Karnataka… These 🐷 who r jobless with 0 capabilities, r jealous of people who earn their food in the city... These b@@$tards just want to loot hardworking people's money... Dooms days ahead for Karnataka,” shared a user.
Another user shared, “This has been problem in Bangalore for long time now. These people think they are the boss when they see people from different state - especially if the people are from north side of India. I have myself faced harassment from one of the cab drivers in my recent Bangalore trip - but I just shut him down and not let him overpower me just because he is local and I am an outsider 💁.”
