Twist of fate: Bride marries groom’s younger brother on wedding stage, know what happened

In a bizarre incident, the wedding of a man had to be called off and the bride had to marry the groom’s younger brother. The incident took place in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to an AajTak report, marriage of a youth, native of Hariana village of Saidangali police station area, was fixed with a girl from Dawai Khurd village of Asmoli police station area. But, this was the man’s second marriage and he had hidden his second marriage from his first wife. 

Reportedly, he had earlier tied the knot with a girl of his village five years ago and they also have children together. but, there was a dispute between the husband and wife, they both were living separately for some time. 

The date on which the second marriage was fixed, the groom along with baaratis arrived at the Bride’s home where they were welcomed with great fanfare. Then their Nikaah ceremony was completed and everyone was happy. However, their happiness was short-lived, as the groom’s first wife reached the bride’s village with her children and created a ruckus.

On getting information police reached the spot. The woman accused the young man of secretly remarrying. After this, the police brought both parties to the Asmoli police station.’

Meanwhile, some elder members of the panchayat reached the police station and initiated talks for a mutual settlement.

Here, the panchayat decided that the groom should give divorce his second wife and the bride after divorce would marry the groom’s younger brother.

Notably, the incident became a hot topic in the Groom's village of Asmoli. Villagers said that the marriage ceremony was of Younger brother and not his. However, his wife unnecessarily reached the spot and created a controversy. 

Asmoli police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar said that after knowing about the dispute, the police had reached the spot and brought both parties to the police station, after which the two sides came to a mutual decision and the bride married and left with the younger brother of the accused youth.
