In this highly tech-advanced age with numerous modern advancements, we are surrounded by uncountable tech gadgets. Undoubtedly, the inventions were made in the new age. Well, in this modern age, people rarely can find any device used in day-to-day life from ancient times. It would be certainly surprising to see an 'outdated gadget/device'.

Recently, a video has stormed the internet that shows the 'ancestors' of ceiling fans. Well, the surprising thing is the traditional fans have been, reportedly, installed in a Bengaluru hotel with a modern twist. The video will certainly leave you stunned but has left the netizens 'horrified'.

In the viral video, several unique fans are featured within a charming traditional interior of a restaurant. Well, these fans certainly don't look ordinary as they are adorned with ornamental off-white fabric and intricate motifs on it. Moreover, these clothes also have elegant golden tassels. While these traditional fans were operated manually, the twist in the case is these sway gently from the ceiling with the help of electricity.

Notably, in ancient times, even during the early British era, these traditional cloth fans were controlled by dedicated attendants. These attendants continuously swayed the fans.

The video is shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Surendra Tapuriah with a caption reading, "*Latest type of Fans* *In a Hotel at Bangalore.. Life is a Circle..*" (sic) The video has been viewed by over 776K users and liked by over 9.5K users.

Well, after the video surfaced on social media, it triggered curiosity and debate among netizens. On the other hand, several others have admired this quirky and innovative approach of the restaurant.

Commenting on the video, one user wrote, “Reminds me of the pankhawalas during the British era,” while another commented, “Isn’t it a big distraction? Moreover I am sure, it doesn’t throw air as much as a normal ceiling fan does.” (sic) The user also shared a photograph from ancient times that shows three attendants operating the traditional ceiling fan.

Another user wrote, "This is at least 70 years old technology. Of course motors weren’t there back then,” while another pointed out, “At least it won’t harm the person sleeping below it in case of falling off. They are designed keeping safety in mind. Good thinking.” (sic)

Meanwhile, some users opined that it looks scary.

"Looks a bit haunted, ngl," wrote a user. (sic)

Another wrote, "No less than horror movie scene." (sic)

"No... It's weird to have something moving like this above our heads... It appears scary at times," wrote another user. (sic)
