Bees in IndiGo Flight
In an unusual turn of events, an IndiGo flight from Surat to Jaipur was delayed for nearly an hour after a swarm of bees settled on the aircraft’s cargo door.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, leaving passengers surprised and sparking viral chatter online.
Bees Halt Take-Off Preparations
Flight 6E-7485, scheduled to depart at 4:40 pm, had completed boarding when airport staff noticed a large cluster of bees on the Airbus A320’s rear cargo hold. Initial attempts by ground personnel to disperse the swarm using smoke failed, forcing authorities to escalate the situation.
Fire Brigade to the Rescue
The airport’s fire brigade was summoned, and firefighters used high-pressure water jets to safely clear the bees without harming them. This allowed ground crews to resume loading and perform final safety checks.
Flight Departs After Thorough Checks
The aircraft eventually took off at 5:26 pm, 50 minutes behind schedule. While some travellers expressed frustration over the delay, others were relieved the issue was resolved without incident.
Viral Video Sparks Online Reactions
A video of the bee swarm clinging to the cargo door quickly went viral on social media, with users calling it “the sweetest flight delay ever.”
