Public roads once again turned a stage for perilous stunts and reckless behaviour leading to widespread concern. This episode unfolded in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh where a young couple was engaged in a Public Display of Affection (PDA) while speeding on a motorcycle.
Apart from endangering their own lives, the act of the couple posed a substantial risk to other road users and pedestrians.
The video swiftly went viral on social media, triggering public outrage and calls for swift and stringent action against the couple.
In response to the viral footage, the Hapur police imposed a hefty fine on the couple. Under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, the biker was slapped with a fine of Rs 8,000, and legal proceedings were initiated to address their dangerous behaviour.
The Hapur police released a statement emphasizing their rapid response, stating, "Photos of a couple performing stunts on a bike on the National Highway under the Simbhawali police station area went viral on social media. #Hapurpolice took immediate cognizance and issued a challan of Rs 8,000 for the said bike under the MV Act, and advance legal action is being taken."`
