The bride and groom are the most important part of any wedding. However, another essential person in a Hindu marriage is the priest, or Panditji, without whom the rituals cannot be solemnized. While every priest has their own style of conducting ceremonies and reciting mantras, a recent video on social media has gone viral due to a Panditji’s unexpected actions—teaching the bride and groom how to pose for the camera.
The video, shared on Instagram by the wedding page Weddingz.in, is captioned, “A trend-breaker Panditji we all need.”
In the viral clip, the bride and groom are posing for photographs on their wedding mandap when the elderly Panditji enters the scene. He asks the bride to kiss the groom's hand and pose, leaving both the bride and groom amused.
Considering that older generations often disapprove of public displays of affection (PDA), netizens loved seeing Panditji—who belongs to that very generation—approving and encouraging such a gesture. Many felt the priest was more in tune with modern trends and understood how couples might miss out on capturing these moments due to cultural shyness.
Since being posted on Instagram, the video has garnered a massive 802K views, with the numbers continuing to rise.
Social media users have flooded the comments section with their reactions. One user wrote, "Aise pandit ko to 50,000 dakshina de doon main." Another commented, “Credit goes to Panditji.” A third user added, “This Panditji rocks!”
