UPSC aspirant Rachit Goel wanted to crack the civil services exam in his first attempt, and for that he started preparation right from his graduation days. Rachit was unable to clear the all-India exam on his first attempt but he cleared Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and emerged a topper.
Rachit went on to become one of the youngest officers of UPPSC as he cleared the recruitment exam at 21 only.
While preparing for UPSC in 2020, Rachit appeared for the UPPSC but he had no idea that he would clear the UPPSC exam.
He got to know about it after the commission sent him an email informing him that it was the last date to apply for the mains exam.
He had only 49 days to prepare for the mains exam for which he focused mainly on the facts about Uttar Pradesh as he is not a native of the state.
However, he cleared the exam with flying colours and was selected as a Child Development Program officer (CDPO) of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
However, Rachit dreams of becoming an IAS officer one day and serve the nation; and hence, he is preparing for the UPSC exam and has not left his dream after becoming an officer in UP Government.
Hailing from Ambala, Rachit completed his schooling from the city’s PKR Jain School. He then did his graduation from Punjab University. Later, he did his Master's in Sociology from JNU, New Delhi.
Rachit Goel's father is a teacher at ITI Ambala Cantonment while his mother works as a teacher in a government girls' school.
Rachit's elder brother Anshul Goel is his inspiration to become an IAS officer. Anshul had topped the All India Gate exam, and also cleared the Union Public Service Commission Engineering Services Exam (IES).
Currently, Anshul is posted at the DDA department of Delhi.
