While India is soaked in the festive season of Diwali, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport witnessed a massive crowd on Friday night.
People in huge numbers queued even at 3AM night with their luggages to onboard their flights. It looks like half of Bengaluru had getaway plans for Diwali.
While many were taking their flights to their homes to spend the festive season with their loved ones, others had long weekend getaway plans.
The video is a proof that festive travel can be crazy sometimes. With the weekends and Diwali on Monday, Bengularians, especially the IT and software engineers, made sure they had fun during the prominent festival of lights.
A twitter user shared the video and it indeed crazily looks like a shopping mall packed with people.
Sharing the video, the user wrote, “BLR airport at 3am. Diwali is here!". The user is none other than Vibin Baburajan, the co-founder of the All India Start-ups Community.
“Also, a decade ago around 50 million Indians were taking flights each year. Now 3x as many Indians are flying each year (CAGR of 12%),” he added.
Similarly, many other similar videos ended up on the internet, showing a horde of packed bags, luggage and throngs of people waiting in queues to board their flights.
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “It was a crazy morning. Still can't believe I made it for my flight. #diwali #BLRAirport.” He also shared another video.
Another user commented the huge crowd at night was for cheap flights. “Sasti flight ki bheed. Regular timings vali mei to loot maachi hei,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, reports suggest private bus fares from Bengaluru to Hubbali has been priced around Rs 5,000 while the flight cost only Rs 2,000.
Moreover, the Karnataka government has announced 1,500 special buses during Diwali.
