Elephants entering human settlements that overlap with wildlife habitats are quite common in many Indian villages. The jumbos are attracted to crops, fruits, vegetables, and other edible plants, leading them to venture into villages in search of food. Most often, this results in human-wildlife conflict, causing property damage, crop damage, destruction of homes, injuries, or even fatalities. However, it is not always that these gentle giants cause destruction.
Recently, a video surfaced on social media that shows a jumbo trying to enter a house through the door in search of food. But, surprisingly, it doesn't break the house.
In the video, the jumbo is seen stretching out its tusker inside the house through the door. The interior of the house looks messed up and it seems the jumbo is responsible for it. Suddenly, the tusker steps back and probably tries to search for another way.
Meanwhile, the person inside the house pans the camera all over showing the cluttered things all around.

A while later, the elephant is again visible standing outside the house. Suddenly, it again turns towards the door and bows down near the entrance. The jumbo stretches out its trunk inside the house and tries to search for something, probably food. However, after repeated tries and failures, the jumbo uses its trunk to close the door. Suddenly, it again opens the door and searches for food. This time it kneels down and steps its foot inside the house. However, throughout the video, the elephant couldn't find any food.
Of course, the incident is scary. However, it is more surprising that the jumbo didn't cause more damage to the house or attack the residents.
While the origin of the video couldn't be traced, it is shared on X by Ghar Ke Kalesh. The video has garnered views and likes. Moreover, netizens have flooded the comments section with their opinions.
