Porters, commonly called Coolie in India, are responsible for carrying and handling passengers' luggage. A coolie also assists the passengers with loading and unloading their belongings onto the train. Their primary job is to help in the movement of passengers' luggage around the platform and station area and they charge a fee for their physical labor. However, there are a few porters who go a step ahead to help the passengers. Recently, a video clip of a Coolie has gone viral on social media that shows him helping a family of three to board a running train safely.
In the video, a man, a woman and a child are seen running beside the moving train. Three of them were trying to run towards the door of the running train. Meanwhile, the porter sees them struggling to board the train and runs towards them instantly. The man carries the child by his hand and helps him to board the train. After the child, the man tries to help his wife to board the train. However, the porter intervenes and asks the man to step aside. He holds the woman's hand and helps her to board the train.
Meanwhile, the man jumps onto the running train. The porter follows the train and ensures that the family boarded the train safely.
While the origin of the video couldn't be verified, it is shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Introvert with a caption reading, "Respect." (sic)
The video has amassed massive views and likes. Moreover, the comments section is flooded with praises for the porter/Coolie. However, a few others expressed concerns and opined that boarding a running train could be quite dangerous.
