People from outside India come to explore the beauty of the country and enjoy local food in the cities. However, some visitors face challenges during their travels.
Recently, a British influencer named Sam Pepper found himself in a difficult situation in India. He shared on Instagram that he was hospitalised with food poisoning after allegedly drinking ‘bhang.’
Although he initially enjoyed his trip, he later developed a high fever and a severe stomach infection, which forced him to postpone his tour and seek medical help.
Sam also claimed that the hospital staff mishandled his treatment, alleging that they left the IV drip valve open, causing blood to spill everywhere. In his video, he received criticism from many on social media, with some accusing him of using drugs.
In response, he later posted a picture on his Instagram stories with a baba (spiritual leader), captioning it: “Indian people seeing my video of me being sick. I still love India. It was my stupid fault! Can’t wait to come back and see you all again soon!”
Amid this, he returned to Bangkok for further tests to understand his condition.
In his viral video, people commented on his experience, with one user saying, “Dude took drugs and is complaining to Indians,” while another wrote, “Just stop doing things for views. People who consume these things have been doing so since childhood. Not everyone in India eats these, but those who do are used to it.”
