Despite the presence of awareness posters and signboards, some individuals continue to spit at these locations, necessitating regular cleaning efforts.
Recently, a video went viral on social media highlighting the diligent work of a woman, seemingly a sanitation worker, at a railway station.
In the video, she can be seen scrubbing a pillar stained with paan and gutka spit. This moment caught the attention of IAS officer Awanish Sharan, who shared the video to shed light on an important issue.
In the video shared on a social media platform, the woman expressed her frustration, saying, "No matter how much we discourage it, some people still engage in such behaviour. What can we do? It's our job, and we have to do it."
Sharan, in his caption, urged viewers to convey the woman's message to the appropriate authorities.
He hoped that increased visibility would lead to action against those who disrespect public spaces and would also recognise the hard work of individuals maintaining cleanliness.
The video garnered various reactions on social media. One user commented, “Thanks to the hardworking lady, who not only works honestly but also gives a strong message on spitting tobacco. #TobaccoFreeIndia.”
