Bhadrak: TikTok craze is affecting people of all ages and strata. Sample the case of a Forest department official from Dhamnagar in Bhadrak district. Forest official Prashant Das has a number of TikTok videos and surprisingly most of the videos have been shot in uniform raising serious questions.
Das has reportedly shot several videos wearing his official uniform and uploaded them on to TikTok app. One can find a number of videos of Das, who can be seen dancing and playing cards wearing his uniform.
Many believe that one expects professionalism particularly from government officials. The government officials in particular should maintain a level of decency and follow the guidelines which doesn’t create problems for their respective departments, said a government official requesting anonymity.
It is not for the first time that there is a fuss over TikTok video involving a government official. Earlier this year, video of a lady school teacher went viral on TikTok. The video of the school teacher dancing had raised several eyebrows as it was recorded during school hours.
Banapriya Nayak, the teacher of Badabhuin UP School under Badamba block of Cuttack district was seen dancing in front of her students. When contacted, Nayak had clarified that the video was shot one year back and as she is the sister of the block samiti chairman, it was an attempt to malign her.
Last year, a TikTok video of a group of nurses dancing inside the emergency Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of a hospital in Malkangiri had gone viral.
