Two held for raping, blackmailing woman

The 27-year-old victim was allegedly raped by one - Narayan Haribhau Karde in Warul Budruk village in Jafrabad tehsil of the district. Later, three of the accused`s friends - Ravi Korde, Gajanan Sitaram Ingle and Datta Baban Shelke learnt about the incident and started blackmailing the woman seeking sexual favours, failing which they threatened to expose her.

In her police complaint lodged yesterday, the woman alleged that the four raped her over a period of one-and-a-half years. She said the four purportedly shot her videos in compromising position and blackmailed her into seeking sexual favours.

The victim also named a woman - Nandabai Karde - in her complaint, alleging that she also assisted the accused in the crime, police said. Based on the complaint, police nabbed two of the culprits while search for the others including the accused woman was on.
