Lucknow: Two persons were arrested with 35,000 oxytocin injections from Cattle colony in Balaganj area here, police said today.

Naushad and Habib were arrested on Sunday following a tip off by a joint team of the drug department and police, they said.

Oxytocin is injected to cows and buffaloes to induce more lactation, though it reduces their life span and creates hormone disorders in consumers. Its sale is banned under schedule H of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
