Meerut: The police on Monday claimed to have busted an inter-state illegal weapons gang with the arrest of two persons and recovery of several pistols and magazines.
Kayyum and Iqbal were arrested, and eleven .32 bore pistols, 22 magazines and tools to assemble a pistol were recovered from them, SSP K Satyanarayan said.
Two other members of the gang fled from the scene and are absconding, the SSP said. The gang smuggled weapons to Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan, he said.
