Hyderabad: The war of words between TDP and TRS intensified on Monday with the latter challenging party chief Chandrababu Naidu to agree for a probe into his assets.

"TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu?s comments at `Mahanadu` that TRS and its president K Chandrasekhar Rao were indulging in blackmail politics and corruption is rubbish. We are ready for a probe into our assets. Is he ready ?," TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao`s son and party MLA K T Rama Rao told reporters here.

He claimed that Naidu, who had only two acres of land in his ancestral village, rose to become the "richest politician in the country."

Rama Rao was responding to the allegations made during the TDP`s annual conclave that TRS was indulging in blackmail and corruption in the name of Telangana.

The TRS and the TDP have been trading allegations over Telangana issue for long. TRS alleges that the TDP went back on its promise to support Telangana cause after the Centre made the announcement on 2009 that separate Telangana state will be formed.

The TDP, however, asserts that it is for the Congress to take a decision on the vexed issue as it is in power both at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP leaders also asked why the TRS always spared Congress and targeted their party.
