In an unexpected turn of events, BJP’s Katipally Venkata Ramana has turned out to be the giant-killer of the prestigious Kamareddy Assembly consitutency in Telangana.
He is an unusual giant-slayer who defeated both outgoing Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Revanth Reddy, state Congress chief.
A businessman by profession, Ramana has become popular as 'KVR'. He is a Class 12 passout with declared assets worth Rs 49.7 crore. His monthly income is Rs 9.8 lakh out of which Rs 4.9 lakh is self-income.
Kiren Rijiju tweeted, “Please don't ignore this great man! BJP’s Katipally Venkata Ramana defeated both the sitting CM of Telangana, KCR and Congress CM candidate, Revanth Reddy from Kamareddy Assembly seat. This is a major victory which is not being discussed at all!”
Speaking to ANI on defeating Incumbent CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and State Congress chief Revanth Reddy from Kamareddy seat, BJP leader Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy says, "I took both of them as normal candidates. People have supported me a lot and this is the reason I won from here...I have become the MLA from Kamareddy. I want to say that I am not just the MLA of 65,000 voters, but I am the MLA of 4 lakh people..."
