In a rare incident, a woman married herself and spent a whopping Rs 10 lakh on her big day. The woman, Sarah Wilkinson, from the United Kingdom, ended her wait for the right life partner and instead preferred to marry herself.
Sarah, 42, is super happy with her ideal wedding and her desire for a grand celebration has been fulfilled, she said. The reason for Sarah’s unusual marriage and her decision to marry herself is yet to be known.
As per a report in BBC, Sarah made the decision to host the wedding ceremony, purchased an engagement ring for herself. She spent her big day in the presence of her family members and friends.
“It was a lovely day for me to be centre of attention,” said Sarah, who works as a credit controller.
Speaking to BBC, she said, “I might not have this with a partner by my side, but why should I miss out? The money was reserved for my wedding. I had saved each month and adding any extra windfalls she had, such as bingo wins.”
“No one stopped smiling all day, and everyone said what an amazing time they had,” Sarah added.
“Nearly every single one said that’s such a Sarah thing to do,” she added.
