A US woman has become a beacon of hope and inspiration online after she quit her corporate job and started her own flower business. The 29-year-old now easily earns $16,000 (approximately Rs 13 lakh) a month.
The woman, identified as Vienna Hintze, is a Syracuse University graduate. She used to work in the marketing and advertising field in New York City. However, she felt monotonous and wanted a change and hence, left her corporate job.
“I was kind of losing the why behind what I was doing. I had moved out to LA and something just wasn’t working anymore. I had changed everything about my life except my agency,” Ms Hintze told CNBC.
A week after quitting her job Hintze decided to start her own flower business with the name ‘Main Street Flower Truck’. Since its launch in August 2023, Hintze has revealed that she has collected around Rs 36L ($44,000) in revenue and additional Rs 3.7 lakh in cash.
In May this year, she earned around Rs 13L in just one month. “If you’re living with your happiness, the money will follow,” she said.
However, since flower business is mostly seasonal, her earning fluctuates in some months with most sale during holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other important events. Hintze has attributed her success to her parents who also love gardening.
The idea of starting a flower truck business originated from her father, who used to do his job in a pickup truck while her mother loved gardening.
“Growing up, my mother had the entire backyard blossoming and blooming constantly. And my dad was driving around in his little pickup truck,” Hintze said.
