In a rerun of the famous Seema Haider and Sachin Meena case, a woman from Bangladesh travelled all the way to India to meet her lover she met online. However, disappointment and heartbreak awaited her as her lover turned out to be a married man.
The woman has been identified as Dilruba Sharma, a 32-year-old, mother of three children. Dilruba travelled all the way from Bangladesh to Roshangarh village in UP to meet her lover Abdul Kareem. She arrived in India only to find out that Abdul was already married, police said.
According to reports, Dilruba is a widow and worked as a beautician after her husband’s death during the Covid-19 pandemic. She met Abdul online who works as a Chef in Bahrain and the duo started exchanging messages. After a few days of chatting and video-calling each other, the duo soon fell in love.
Sharing details, an official said, Abdul arrived from Bahrain while Dilruba arrived along with her three children aged 15, 12 and seven in Lucknow on a tourist visa. The five of them then boarded a bus and went to Bahraich where they stayed in a hotel for two days before going to Abdul’s native place.
On learning about his arrival, Abdul’s wife along with fellow villagers confronted him following which the truth of his marriage came out. With no other option left, Dilruba decided to return back to her country.
“She was here on a tourist visa and there is no criminal angle in her arrival in India. Her tourist visa was valid,” a police officer informed.
