To oust Cong prepared to go with any party: Badal

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal was willing to forge alliance with any like-minded political party with the "sole objective" to defeat the Congress in the forthcoming Assembly polls.

Talking to media persons on the sidelines of a function here, Badal said, "SAD would always welcome such leaders and alliances to join its crusade to wipe out Congress from the state and the country in the larger public interest."

He was replying to a question about the possibility of Lok Bhalai Party President and Former Union Minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia joining the SAD. The Chief Minister claimed that people had lost faith in the Congress due to its "anti-poor policies, rampant corruption, unemployment, poverty and rising inflation".
