Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Friday convicted three persons to 10 years' imprisonment and imposed Rs one lakh fine on each after finding them guilty in a contraband smuggling case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge-IX Prabhunath Singh passed the order convicting Rajesh Jha, Md Guddu and Narayan Sahni to 10 years' imprisonment and Rs one lakh fine on each after finding them guilty under NDPS Act.

They were arrested for smuggling of 216 kg ganja into the Indian territory from Nepal eight years ago.

According to prosecution, Customs sleuths had arrested the convicted persons with the haul of contraband substance from NH-28 on March 15, 2005.
