Keonjhar: Three members of a family including an old woman and two minor girls were taken ill after consuming wild mushrooms last night in Mirigikhoji village under Patana block of Keonjhar district.

As per reports, one Sadhabani Biswal, grandmother of two minor girls Rumi Biswal and Rami Biwal collected some wild mushrooms from their nearby village forest and cooked them for dinner.

After consuming the mushroom curry, the two girls complained of stomach pain and uneasiness. Later their grandmother also showed signs of nausea and fell ill.

Locals admitted all three of them to Patana Government hospital and later shifted to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital after their health condition worsened.

Even though the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained since all three of the family have been unable to recount about the incident due to their critical condition, it is suspected that food poisoning due to the mushrooms might have led to their illness.
