First, you need to enable the New Gmail interface by clicking the 'Gear' icon in the top right and selecting 'Try the New Gmail'.
To send a self-destructing email, follow these steps
1.Log in to your Gmail account and compose an email.
2.At the bottom bar of the Compose Email window, click on the "Toggle confidential mode" icon to access Confidential Mode.
3.From the Confidential Mode settings screen, select the expiry date and time for the email, and optionally add an extra layer of security with an SMS passcode.
4.Click on Save and then send the email.
The recipient will receive the email as a 'Confidential' email and will be informed of the expiry time. After the set expiry time, the email cannot be downloaded, forwarded, or copied from the recipient.
Another useful feature of Confidential Mode is the ability to revoke access to the email before the set expiry time. To do this, simply open the sent email and click on the 'Remove Access' link.
If you want to add an extra layer of security to the email, you can set an SMS passcode by clicking on the 'Timer Lock' icon and selecting the 'SMS passcode' option. This will prompt you to enter a phone number on which the code will be sent, and the recipient will need to enter the code to access the email.
