If you're someone who values privacy and security, you may want to consider locking your iPhone apps.
Doing so will ensure that no one else can access your apps apart from you.
Fortunately, locking your apps is a simple process, and can be accomplished by following these steps.
Creating the Automation Shortcut
To start, you'll need to create an automation shortcut.
Begin by opening the Shortcuts app on your iPhone and clicking on the Automation tab.
To proceed, please choose the "Create Personal Automation" selection from this menu.
You'll then be taken to a screen where you can select the trigger for the automation.
In this case, choose the "App" option and select the apps that you want to lock.
You can select multiple apps if you wish.
Once you've made your selection, click "Next."
Adding the Lock Screen Action
After selecting the apps that you want to lock, click on "Add Action."
Scroll down the list of actions until you find the "Lock Screen" option.
Select it and click "Next."
Finally, turn on the toggle switch that says "Ask Before Running."
This ensures that the automation will not run automatically and will ask for confirmation each time.
Finishing the Process
Once you've completed these steps, click "Done" to finish creating the automation.
Now, whenever you or someone else tries to access your locked apps, they will be directed to the lock screen.
To unlock the apps, you will need to use your Face ID or passcode.
Deleting the Shortcut
If you ever want to remove the automation and unlock your apps, you can easily delete the shortcut.
To do so, go back to the Shortcuts app and click on the Automation tab.
Find the shortcut you created earlier and swipe left on it.
You'll then be given the option to delete the shortcut.
Click "Delete" to remove it from your device.
