Have you heard about a helmet that helps a rider breath fresh? Well a Delhi based startup has come up with one such ‘anti-pollution’ helmet.

The helmet developed by Shellios Technolabs received seed funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and was incubated at Science and Technology Entrepreneur Park (JSSATE-STEP) Noida.

The anti-pollution helmet at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) level 9 is said to have been been granted utility patent and is now being sold in all parts of the country, as per a PIB release.

The end-users of the product include individual riders all over India and for the next version, Shellios has partnered with Royal Enfield Motorcycles to commercialize the product.

Details about the anti-pollution helmet

The anti-pollution helmet has a bluetooth-enabled app. Through the app, a rider can know when the helmet requires cleaning.

The helmet has air purifying accessories including patented innovations of the startup -- a Brushless DC (BLDC) blower fan, High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter membrane, electronic circuit, and microUSB charging port integrated.

The weight of the helmet is 1.5 kg and is priced at Rs 4,500.
