Swamy demands resignation of Chidambaram

Chennai: Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy on Monday demanded the resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram following the crackdown on Baba Ramdev and his supporters at Delhi`s Ramlila Maidan.

In a statement, he said Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Chidambaram "must accept joint responsibility for the dastardly and sinister police raid on June 4 on innocent, fasting and sleeping volunteers of Baba Ram Dev at Ramlila Grounds."

The administration of Delhi, being a Union territory, comes under the control of the home ministry.
