Bhubaneswar: Body of a B. Tech (First Year) student was on Tuesday found near Bomikhal railway line. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide as texts written on a notepad recovered from his bag indicates that the deceased might have been involved in a love affair. He might have taken the extreme step due to failure in love affair, police said.
The deceased identified as Abhijit Das was a resident of Shastri Nagar here.
On Monday evening, he informed his parents that he was going to meet some of his friends and did not return home.
The recovery of mutilated body from the railway track under mysterious circumstance has now raised suspicion over his death as neither the family members nor the friends of the deceased were aware of his involvement in any affair.
Meanwhile, the GRP (Government Railway Police) have recovered the body and a broken mobile phone from the spot and begun investigation into the matter.
