Virender Sehwag shares epic meme to celebrate India’s Test series win over Bangladesh

Former Indian swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag, apart from his fearless strokeplay, is well known for using a pinch of humour in his social media posts. The veteran batsman was at his humorous best again after Team India’s fighting victory over Bangladesh on Sunday. 

Sehwag shared a hilarious meme showing off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the avatar of a scientist.

“Champion performance… somehow got out of the woods courtesy Ashwin,” wrote Sehwag in the caption of his post in Instagram which showed Ashwin’s face morphed over that of a scientist in a laboratory.

Ashwin batted brilliantly once again as he helped India get over the line after the visitors were reduced to 74/7 while chasing a target of 145 runs on a difficult pitch in Mirpur, Bangladesh. 

Having lost four wickets earlier on Day three, India’s chase didn’t begin well. The visitors somehow fought their way to stumps on Saturday. On Day four, India needed 100 runs to win, while Bangladesh needed six wickets.
 
The hosts captured three early wickets putting India under huge pressure. 

However, Ashwin scored an unbeaten 46-run knock, and stitched together a much-needed 71-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer to seal victory.
 
Subsequently, Sehwag took to Instagram and hailed Ashwin for his contribution with the bat.
