India’s batting legend and run-machine Virat Kohli lost his cool after he was booed by Australian cricket fans at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). The incident happened when the star batsman was walking into the dressing room after getting dismissed on the second day of the ongoing third Test for the Border Gavaskar Trophy on Friday.
Australian fans continued to boo him, leaving him outraged. Kohli was walking towards the pavilion in disappointment with his head down when the crowd crossed the boundary line. A frustrated Kohli then turned back and gave an intense look to the spectators in anger.
A video of the entire incident was caught on camera and has been going viral on social media. An X user shared, the video and wrote, “Virat Kohli almost recreated that incident with a CSK fan at Wankhede 😭😭”
Support poured in for the king with fans wishing him the best of luck ahead and requesting him to answer with his bat.
“He’ll be talking with his bat soon enough. 💀,” a fan commented.
Another fan shared, “This is the only way to wake him up and bring the fire back 😭”
“Cricket is blessed to get Virat Kohli ❤️” shared another user.
King Kohli, who started the Test with a brilliant century in the first match, hasn’t been in his prime form in the ongoing series.
A day back, he was caught in controversy following a physical altercation with Sam Konstas of Australia on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test. Tempers flared after Kohli bumped into Sam early into the match.
He has been fined 20 per cent of his match fees and handed one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Kohli also accepted the sanctions proposed by the Match Referee Andy Pycroft.
