Once upon a time, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were known for their verbal alternations quite a few times which made headlines. But now, it seems both have put an end to all those things and it is evident from the special interactive posted by the BCCI on social media.
In this special interview, Gambhir and Kohli seem to be enjoying the vibe and watching the highlights of the Iconic 2011 ICC World Cup where both of them played a significant role in India’s historic win after 28 years since that 1983 glory.
Gambhir’s 97 was well appreciated by all, but not to forget Kohli’s priceless 35 runs which he scored under pressure after India lost 2 wickets for 31 runs. They both stitched 83 run partnership which steadied India towards a famous win at the Wankhede Stadium on April 2, 2011.
Then, Gambhir too praised Kohli for his record-breaking series against the mighty Aussies where he notched up 692 runs in 4 matches which included 4 centuries in Australia.
‘’I remember when you had that bumper series on Australia where you scored heaps and heaps of runs and that got you in touch zone. And for me, it was exactly the same when I played in Napier. And if I look back, can I bat for another two and a half days? I don’t think so. I could have ever done that again. And I have never been in that zone ever in my life after that. So, I can imagine how good that feeling is to be in that zone. And I’m sure you must have experienced this many more times as compared to what I have,” Gambhir said.
Amidst all these, there was a few fun banter between the two of them where Gambhir was seen trolling Kohli after he asked how chat with the opposition players used to impact him during his playing days.
‘’When you’re batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and you potentially getting out, or did it put you in a more motivated space?” Kohli asked Gambhir, to which he replied, “You had more alterations than I have. I think you can answer the question better than I can.”
