As per a report by Hindustan Times, after the video circulated on social media, his friends and colleagues reached out to Kambli to check on him. Kambli spent hours recalling old times with his school buddy Ricky and first-class umpire Marcus. The former cricketer urged them not to trust social media and assured them that he was doing well.

Marcus revealed, "During our meeting, he was in high spirits. Now, he is well on the road to recovery."

Further, he said that his (Kambli) health condition has significantly improved. The circulating video is an old one as currently he has shed excess weight and regained his appetite, he said.

Further, he added, "The whole family gathered, revelling in each other's company. His son Christiano- a fellow left-handed batter- was receiving batting guidance from his father."

Moreover, Kambli also had conversations with former teammate Abey Kuruvilla (General Manager of BCCI) and Ajinkya Naik (Newly appointed president of Mumbai Cricket Association).

Notably, after a record-breaking partnership with Sachin Tendulkar during his youth days, Kambli became a rising star and made a strong start in his career. However, his test career ended prematurely and he was last seen in an international format match in 2000. Later, he continued playing in domestic cricket until 2011.
