This was the second security breach of the match, following a similar incident on Day 1 when another fan ran onto the field before being dragged away by security. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) had initially planned to open only two stands, but overwhelming demand led to the opening of a third stand to accommodate the massive turnout.

Despite Kohli’s underwhelming first-innings performance, where he was dismissed for just six runs by Railways pacer Himanshu Sangwan, fans remained hopeful for his redemption in the second innings.
